Here’s a roundup of my recent tweets on Twitter (slightly edited and remixed for clarity here on my blog). I’d love it if you’d follow me on there; you can do so via my Twitter profile page.
* Dreamed that Steve Carrell’s last episode of The Office is a time travel story a la Back To The Future II, revisiting old episodes. In the dream, Larry Wilmore guest-starred but was not playing his character from earlier in the series. I really dig Larry Wilmore so this is not a surprise. For the record, I strongly doubt Steve Carrell’s last episode of The Office will feature either time travel or Larry Wilmore.
* Algeria is the new Egypt. You heard it here first.
* Congratulations to CPAC for recreating political enthusiasm not seen since 1934! USA! USA! http://bit.ly/B7sfw
* Every picture of someone at the CPAC podium makes me think of Hitler. Just sayin’.
* A film adaptation of Atlas Shrugged that doesn’t acknowledge Rand/Objectivism’s flaws will be as relevant and entertaining as Battlefield: Earth. In keeping with Ayn Rand’s recently revealed government dependence, perhaps the producers should apply for a grant from the NEA. David Lynch’s Atlas Shrugged, I’d watch.
* If the Egyptians can make freedom work, maybe the U.S. will be able to follow their example. One can hope.
* Why can’t the rest of America care as much about its people as Vermont does? Single-Payer Health Plan Proposed: http://t.co/guAL1ct
* It’s nice that on the same day Egypt is freed from tyranny, Vermont takes a step toward freeing itself from the tyrant health care system.
* Please help stop conservatives from suppressing truth. Sign the petition to demand government funding for NPR and PBS: http://bit.ly/eRAk8K
* Is there a stupider or more dangerous idea than the drive-thru pharmacy? http://www.jimplagakis.com/?p=3697
* Remember when David Brent introduced himself using Tina Turner’s Simply The Best on The Office? Watch this dick do it! http://huff.to/faYDQg. Actually, the guy standing behind him kind of looks like David Brent with end-stage syphilis. Apologies to Ricky Gervais. But it’s true!
* Anyone else agree with me that Twitter is becoming a global communication system that feels like assisted telepathy?
* Incognito #3 is dark, violent and awesome. Pleased to read in the backmatter by @brubaker that the Criminal HC is in its 4th printing.
* Just heard Hannity totally pwned on his own show. Asked if he fears those coming to power in Egypt, caller said he fears those in power here more. Hannity was gobsmacked. Seems like the Egyptian uprising is leaving the radical American Taliban like Hannity and Beck with nowhere to find traction. Hannity says “everyone” knew Egypt would explode eight months ago. So how come he hasn’t mentioned it until the last two weeks?
* @davidwynne Your tweet about Russell Brand reminds me of the time a DJ in his 60s referred on the air to “that Britisher David Lee Roth.”
* Every time I see the name SULEIMAN online, my brain tells me it says SUPERMAN.
* @MattSpringer The standard format for digital comics is .cbr/.cbz. Anything else is doomed to fail. The industry will be shuttered and abandoned before they realize it. “Hey, you know what we should have done?” Hell, make the comics free and charge up the wazoo for ads millions of people will see. I bet Diamond didn’t talk to @comicsreporter before launching their soon-to-fail digital initiative. They should have: http://bit.ly/fENY3H
* @yanbasque Apparently the designers of Diamond’s digital comics initiative don’t own a computer or know anyone who does.
* All right, time to go get the pants the one-hour cleaners have had for two weeks. Wish me luck!
* Some conservatives STILL say “homicide bomber” when they talk about suicide bombers. The Unabomber was a homicide bomber, you idiots.
* I really think Unabomber should be spelled “Unibomber” since he was bombing UNIversities and “Unabomber” sounds like UN-a-bomber in my head.
* You know a phrase Hitler would have loved? “German Exceptionalism.” http://youaredumb.net/node/1714
* The Chicago Code is another winner from Shawn Ryan. One episode in and I’m craving more. Glad to have a great crime drama back on my viewing schedule.
* Shared everything I know about social networking today. Not that that’s a huge amount, but I learned a few things too.
* Goddamn it, AOL should’ve talked to me about Comic Book Galaxy before buying The Huffington Post. Would have given them a far better price.
* Let’s all remember Reagan’s legacy: Greed, death and the determined disregard for the suffering of poor people everywhere. Burn in hell.
* The chapter on Obamacare in Matt Taibbi’s Griftopia makes me want to punch something. EVERYTHING.
* I asked my wife which Star Trek character has a cat and what is the cat’s name? - “It’s Data. Is the cat Mister Pickles?”
